Controlled synthesis of branched SnO2 nanowhiskers
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract Branched semiconducting oxide nanowhiskers of SnO2 were synthesized via a controlled two-step vapor–liquid–solid approach with the aid of Au nanoclusters catalyst. Structural characterizations of the synthesized products were performed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Raman spectrum. A strong yellow emission at 580 nm was observed at room temperature, which is likely related to surface oxygen vacancies. These branched SnO2 nanowhiskers should find many promising applications in catalyst supports, three-dimensional optoelectronic devices and gas sensor applications.
