Synthesis and characterisation of La1−xSrxCoO3 with large surface area

Abstract
Abstract The paper presents a simple technique for synthesis of La 1− x Sr x CoO 3 ( x =0–0.3) nanopowders by calcining maleate-based precursors. The complex precursors were characterised by chemical analysis, electronic and FT-IR spectra and DTA–TG analysis. The XRD data for La 1− x Sr x CoO 3 show that the samples are single phase with rhombohedral distorted perovskite structure. Specific surface area results of La 1− x Sr x CoO 3 samples indicated values in the range 30–38 m 2 /g, which are high values for perovskite-type oxides.
