Abstract

Two-dimensional metal–organic framework (2D MOF) materials are emerging as promising candidates for next-generation organic photodetectors due to their high specific surface area, tunable optical properties, superior charge transfer performance, and excellent chemical stability. However, enhancing carrier separation efficiency under illumination and minimizing dark current remain significant challenges in this field. In this study, Zn-TCPP was grown on an ITO substrate, followed by N, N ′-dioctyl-3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic diimide (PTCDI-C8), to construct a p–n heterojunction self-powered photodetector. The device exhibits a low dark current of 3.78 pA, a noise equivalent power (NEP) of 9.21 × 10 –10 W, and a high specific detectivity ( D *) of 4.78 × 10 12 Jones at 0 V bias, alongside a fast response time of 15 ms. This work presents an effective strategy for developing high-performance, low-noise 2D MOF-based photodetectors and highlights their potential for use in next-generation wearable optoelectronic devices and imaging systems.
