Abstract

The ratio of 3d cations M in Li 2 MSeO (M = Mn, Fe, Co) anti-perovskites defines their battery performance. DFT, operando XRD, and XAS studies show that the redox activity of Se depends on the covalency of the chemical bond between the 3d metal and Se.
