Abstract

Ferroelectric B a 0.55 S r 0.4 C a 0.05 T i O 3 ( BSCT ) ceramics with nano‐ M g O additive have been prepared by typical electrical ceramic technology sintered at 950°C for 2 h. The influence of the additive content on the sintering behaviors of BSCT ceramics is investigated. The results show that the interactions of M g O with BSCT and B 2 O 3 ‐ L i 2 O liquid sintering additive help to form wetting boundaries for accelerating densification process, promote the grain growth of BSCT ceramic. The BSCT ceramic with 20 wt% nano‐ M g O possesses uniform microstructure, high densification, and superior dielectric properties. The modification mechanism of nano‐ M g O on BSCT ceramic is summarized as “ M g O assisted wetting sintering model.”
