Abstract

Abstract Sintering behavior and magnetic properties of NiCuZn ferrites with different amount of Nb 2 O 5 and MoO 3 additions were investigated. It was found that Nb 2 O 5 and MoO 3 additives could improve densification and promote uniform grain growth. The appropriate Nb 2 O 5 and MoO 3 additions not only efficiently increase the initial permeability ( μ i ) and saturation flux density ( B s ), but also noticeably reduce the remanent flux density ( B r ) and coercive filed strength ( H c ) of the NiCuZn ferrites sintered at 925 °C. By contrast, the NiCuZn ferrites with 0.2 wt% Nb 2 O 5 and 0.3 wt% MoO 3 additions showed excellent magnetic properties: μ i =1097.88 at 100 kHz, B s =160.81 mT, B r =63.55 mT and H c =26.6 A·m -1 .
