YBaCo3ZnO7+–Sm2O3 as the cathode material for proton-conducting SOFCs
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract The material YBaCo 3 ZnO 7+ δ (YBCZ) was successful synthesized and YBCZ–Sm 2 O 3 was primarily used as the cathode materials for proton-conducting SOFCs. The electrochemical performances of the single cell consisting of a BaZr 0.1 Ce 0.7 Y 0.2 O 3− δ (BZCY7)–NiO anode substrate, a BZCY7 electrolyte membrane and an YBCZ–Sm 2 O 3 cathode layer, was tested from 600 to 700 °C with humidified hydrogen (~3% H 2 O) as a fuel and static air as an oxidant. An open-circuit potential of 0.996 V and a maximum power density of 270 mW cm −2 at 700 °C were obtained. The measured results were almost the same with the cell with cathode YBCZ+BaCeO 3 and much higher than the cell with YBCZ+Al 2 O 3 cathode.
