Abstract

Abstract LiFePO 4 /graphene/carbon composite (LFP/G/C) was synthesized by in-situ precipitation of FePO 4 ·2H 2 O/graphene oxide composite (GO–FePO 4 ·2H 2 O) and solid state reaction to form LFP/C using Li 2 CO 3 as the lithium resource as well as reduce GO to graphene. SEM results show that a great amount of FePO 4 ·2H 2 O particles are grown on the GO sheets in GO–FePO 4 ·2H 2 O. From the TEM and HRTEM results, an effective electronic conducting network on LiFePO 4 particles is formed by both graphene and conductive carbon in the LFP/G/C, which can deliver a discharge capacity of 118.8 mA h g −1 even at high rate of 10 C and show a capacity decay rate of ~2.3% after 120 cycles.
