Power ultrasound on asphalt viscoelastic behavior analysis
Source abstract
Abstract
Petroleum asphalt, which is the residue left after the distillation of crude oil, meets the characteristics of a mature physics technology of ultrasonic disposal used to reduce the viscosity of crude oil and improve the oil recovery rate. In this study, we analyzed changes in the viscosity of change trend of molten asphalt during ultrasonic disposal tests based on the viscosity-temperature properties of asphalt. We also investigated the effects of ultrasonic vibration on the chemical properties of asphalt by conducting microscopic and chemical tests. The results showed the following: (1) ultrasonic irradiation generated by the circulating vibration and cavitation effect can effectively reduced the viscosity of asphalt according to the law of specificity; 2) the MSCR test data changes showed that the viscosity recovery of ultrasonic disposal of asphalt increased over time, and the results showed that ultrasonic vibration had short-term adhesion reduction characteristics of matrix asphalt; and (3) four-component analysis shows that: the asphalt decreased the heavy component and increased the light component content after ultrasonic disposal, indicating that ultrasound can lighten the asphalt, which can be used as a new asphalt warm mix technology.
