STUDY ON OXIDATION BEHAVIOR OF FINE-GRAINED DOPED GRAPHITE

Fan Zhuang

Abstract

Fine-grained doped graphite with optimized thermophysical properties was firstly fabricated by Ball-milling dispersion method. The oxidation behavior of C-B4C-SiC-TiC composites materials with various size ceramic carbides additives at temperatures of up to 1 500℃ was analyzed by the thermal differential thermal analysis technique and surface morphology of the composites after isothermal oxidation at 800℃?1 200℃ and 1 400℃ was examined by scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated that fine-grained doped graphite had better oxidation resistance above 800℃.
