Femtosecond-laser Nanostructuring in Glass
Source abstract
Abstract
We demonstrate the polarization-dependent anisotropy of the laser induced nanostructures inside SiO 2 and GeO 2 glass. Such nanostructures show form birefringence which is controllable by the femtosecond double-pulse configuration. In the case of SiO 2 glass, we have also demonstrate polarization imaging filter based on the linear dichroism for the visible light ranging from 400 to 800 nm. While, in the case of GeO 2 glass, the decomposition of constituent elements according to increase in laser energy was also observed.
