An activation-free method for preparing microporous carbon by the pyrolysis of poly(vinylidene fluoride)
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract A simple method for the preparation of microporous carbon was presented by pyrolyzing poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) at high temperature under N 2 atmosphere without activation or any other additional processes. The yield of PVDF-derived carbon is 35.0%. Its specific surface area reaches 1012 m 2 g with a pore volume of 0.41 cm 3 g −1 . The carbon is microporous with unimodal pore size distribution at 0.55 nm.
