Effect of reinforcing epoxy coatings with carbon cloth on their wear under great loads
Source abstract
Abstract
It has been shown that composite materials based on epoxy resins reinforced with a carbon cloth can be potentially used to develop antifriction coatings for operating surfaces of sliding shutters for oil-trunk pipelines. It is less preferable to use wear-resistant compositions containing ceramic particles for the given purpose because of their abrasive effect on contacting surfaces. The effect of enhancing the wear resistance of coatings based on epoxy resins reinforced with carbon cloth with the additional introduction of a disperse ceramic filler in them is also not revealed.
