Effect of chemical composition of metal counterbodies on wear of carbon plastics with polymer matrix at water lubrication
Source abstract
Abstract
Tribological properties of carbon plastics with epoxy and phenol-formaldehyde matrices were studied under boundary lubrication with water. The wear of the carbon plastics proved to be governed mostly by the chemical composition of the metal counterbody. One of the possible mechanisms of the severe wear of the carbon plastics when Ti was contained in the metal counterbody was considered.
