H. Pieper

Abstract

EnglishCapacity increases by means of higher temperatures may not be carried out for various reasons. Therefore the development of the deep refiner type furnace based on new aspects. With this type of furnace considerably higher minimum residence times can be obtained with the same load as with conventional furnaces. In this case the quality of the same load as with conventional furnaces. In this case the quality of the glass which is taken out is determined by the temperature and the time of the glass which flows on the critical current path from the doghouse to the throat. The time and temperature course are mainly determined by the tank shape and the arrangement and connection of the electrodes. Some installations which achieved maximum capacities of 4.4 t/m2/24 h are described. These furnaces have a considerably higher flexibility than conventional furnaces.
