Source abstract
Abstract
The Front Cover illustrates the hydrogen evolution on carbonyl iron electrodes with the latter being a resource-efficient option to store renewable electricity for stationary applications. Hydrogen evolution is indeed the only charge loss mechanism during the reduction of carbonyl iron electrodes in alkaline electrolyte but may largely be prevented based on an adapted electrochemical cycling protocol.
