Interferometric Determination of Optical Properties of Bicomponent Fibers
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract Both double-beam and multiple-beam interferometry were applied for the determination of refractive indices and birefringence of nylon, 6 sheath, nylon 66 core bicomponent fibers. Double-beam technique was applied to determine the mean refractive indices for plane polarized light vibrating parallel and perpendicular to the fiber axis and the mean birefringence. Multiple-beam Fizeau fringes in transmission and in reflection were used to determine these optical parameters for each component of these fibers.
