Azadirachta indica and Punica granatum rind treatment on linen fabric with plasma finish and exhaustion method

Authors not provided

Abstract

In this study, neem (Azadirachtaindica) and pomegranate (Punica granatum) have been used as antimicrobial agents in afixed proportion and these are treated with for application on linen fabric followed by plasma treatment. The treated fabric isthen assessed for antimicrobial activity. It is found that, without plasma treatment, neem and pomegranate rind extracttreatments provide a semi-permanent antimicrobial finish, but after plasma treatment, the durability of the finish remainscloser to the permanent finish. Some significant changes in the linen fabric properties are also observed.
