Impact of cerium on structural, magnetic and electrical properties of barium-based spinel ferrites
Source abstract
Abstract
Magnetic, structural, and dc electrical characteristics of barium ferrites (BaF) with the formulation BaCexFe2-xO4 (x = 0.00–0.10) were effectively synthesized utilizing the sol–gel method employing auto-combustion. Using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), we analyzed the structural and the magnetic characteristics of the generated materials. Crystal structure studies and phase detection of materials lead to the advent of the cubic spinel phase. In addition, the cubic symmetry of space group Fd3m can be seen in every one of the finished products. The magnetic saturation, denoted by MS, showed a linear decline with increasing dopant content, while the coercivity, denoted by HC, exhibited the opposite behavior. Synthesized nanoparticle dc (direct current) resistivity and activation energy increased with Cerium (Ce) concentration. Temperature reduces resistivity and activation energy. The presented data show these particles may be good candidates for high-frequency applications.
