Plasmon-driven molecular photodissociations
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract In this review, we introduce principle and applications of plasmon-driven molecular dissociation. Firstly mechanism of plasmon-driven molecular dissociation is interpreted in detail. Secondly, we introduce the applications of plasmon-driven dissociation of H2 on Au and Al nanomaterials, respectively. Thirdly, we introduce low-temperature N2 dissociation catalyst exploiting near-IR-to-visible light. Fourthly, we also introduce plasmon resonant enhancement of photocatalytic water splitting under visible illumination. Fifth, an autonomous photosynthetic device is introduced, in which all charge carriers derive from surface plasmons. Lastly, we introduce plasmon-driven dissociation of CO2. Our review can promote deeper understanding the principle, mechanism and applications on plasmon-driven molecular photodissociation.
