Synthesis of SnS2 single crystals and its Li-storage performance with LiMn2O4 cathode
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract We report the possibility of using SnS 2 single crystals as promising anode for Li-ion battery applications with spinel LiMn 2 O 4 cathode. Although, huge irreversible capacity loss is an issue for such alloy based anode, an electrochemical pre-lithiation process is conducted before conducting full-cell assembly. The full-cell is capable of working in the potential of ∼3.64 V. A meager capacity fade is noted for SnS 2 single crystals upon cycling irrespective of half-cell or full-cell configuration. First, the SnS 2 single crystals are synthesized by physical vapor transport and confirmed with X-ray diffraction and SAED measurements.
