Effect of oxidation degree of graphene oxide on the electrochemical performance of CoAl-layered double hydroxide/graphene composites
Source abstract
Abstract
Abstract CoAl-layered double hydroxide (CoAl-LDH) was deposited on the surface of graphene oxide (GO) with various oxidation degree (OD) via hydrothermal method. The synthesized CoAl-layered double hydroxide/graphene (CoAl-LDH/GN) composites have been characterized by XRD, FT-IR, XPS, Raman, SEM, TEM, TGA and electrochemical performance. The results showed that the relative content of GO participated in the fabrication of CoAl-LDH/GN composites, and the residual oxygenous functional groups and defects in the GN of the composites increased with the OD, while the size of the in-plane sp 2 domains in the GN of the composites decreased with the OD. The increase of the former ones and the decrease of the latter one lead to a decrease in the electrical conductivity of the composites. Consequently, the CoAl-LDH/GN composite fabricated by optimizing OD of GO exhibited the maximum specific capacitance of 895 F/g (1.25 A/g) and the best capacitive behavior.
