Spectral-luminescent properties of trivalent chromium ions in glass of the system K2O-Al2O3-B2O3
Source abstract
Abstract
The spectral-luminescent properties of potassium-aluminoborate glass activated by trivalent chromium ions and subjected to thermal treatment at various temperature and duration regimes are studied. The X-ray-phase studies have shown that by thermal treatment of such potassium-aluminoborate glass a crystalline phase of Al 2 O 3 : Cr is evolved. The embedding of chromium ions into the crystalline phase causes changes in the absorption and luminescence spectra.
