Fluidized mixing: The efficient way to combine bulk powders
Source abstract
Abstract
Mechanical mixers are predominant in bulk powder blending installations, but fluidized systems offer many indisputable advantages in efficiency, power consumption, and maintenance costs. It is clear that maintenance is one of the major considerations today when choosing a blending system. Power must also be considered when making a decision on the type of equipment to be operated. Power to drive air is far less than the power required to mechanically move an entire bin or its contents. The mechanical mixer requires much more energy to operate.
