Abstract
Major trends in refractory utilization within the refining/petrochemical industries are discussed. One trend is growth of refractory fiber, particularly modules. Another is the increasing use of stainless steel fibers in monolithic refractories. The third, development of alternate anchorage for erosionresistant linings, is largely interrelated with metal fiber reinforcement.
