Abstract

Higher baseline depression scores were found to be significant risk factors for chest pain of nonischemic origin following successful PCI. A larger study is needed to confirm the predictive value of this and other factors that may contribute to this elusive pain problem. Further research is also required to develop pain management strategies for patients whose chest pain persists in the absence of discernible ischemic causes.
