Realizing Wide‐Gamut Human‐Centric Display Lighting with K3AlP3O9N:Eu2+ (Advanced Optical Materials 8/2023)

Abstract
Light-emitting diode (LED)-driven displays create colored images by down-converting an intense blue LED signal to longer wavelengths using inorganic phosphors. Unfortunately, overexposure to this blue LED emission throughout the course of a day has been linked to insomnia and mood disorders. “Human-centric” lighting can alleviate this problem by transitioning to safe violet LED driven devices and utilizing a trichromatic phosphor mixture.
