Abstract

As shown by Abhijeet K. Chaudhari and Jin-Chong Tan in article number 1901912, a porous metal-organic framework (cubic structure in the bottom-left corner of the cover image) can be used to encapsulate two different luminescent guest molecules, i.e. rhodamine B and fluorescein (rendered as red and green molecules, respectively). The resultant material can be 3D printed to form a UV to white light converter, illustrated by the cylindrical module at the right. The colour temperature of the emitted light is tunable, as represented by the gradient of the white emission projecting towards the top of the image.
