Abstract

In article number 1801413, Shifeng Zhou, Haohai Yu and co-workers demonstrate a novel transition-metal doped nanostructured photonic glass with smart optical modulation function, pointing to promising applications in all-fiber photonic systems. This work also provides significant clues for engineering a wide range of local-chemistry-dependent materials properties in amorphous solids.
