Color Displays: Responsive Monochromatic Color Display Based on Nanovolcano Arrays (Advanced Optical Materials 10/2013)
Source abstract
Abstract
The monochromatic colors in this computerrendered image from G. Zhang and co-workers are generated via a unique surface plasmon process based on the special nanovolcano array shown below. The structure of the nanovolcano array, described on page 724, is fabricated by colloidal lithography, and the colors are sensitive to changes in their environment, meaning that they can be easily tuned.
