Abstract

Artificial Synaptic Device Hybrid silicon oxide nanoflakes (SiONFs)@PMMA/graphene as the new type of artificial inorganic/organic photosynaptic device is revealed to feature the behaviors analogous to biological synapses. Defect engineering of SiONFs empowers the dual-functionalities of photoreceptor and memory effects, allowing the emulation of intricate functionalities observed in biological synapses, including photonic-driven excitatory postsynaptic current, paired pulsed facilitation, short- and long-term memory and learning-forgetting-relearning behaviors.
