Flexible Distributed Bragg Refractors: Cost‐Effective, Flexible, Hydrophobic, and Tunable Structural Color Polymeric Bragg Reflector Metastructures (Advanced Optical Materials 21/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
Inspired by Nature, Marisol Martín-González and co-workers (article number 1800408) explore the fabrication of flexible distributed Bragg refractors from commodity thermoplastic polymers like polyethylene, creating a hydrophobic metamaterial with consistent structural colour in different view directions. These large three-dimensional polymer networks open new possibilities for the use in sensing, photonics, filtering or as scaffold for other materials.
