Anisotropic Nonlinear Absorption: Anisotropic Nonlinear Optical Properties of a SnSe Flake and a Novel Perspective for the Application of All‐Optical Switching (Advanced Optical Materials 18/2019)
Source abstract
Abstract
The material in the center of the cover image is SnSe, with highly anisotropic in-plane structure, and two incident laser beams, with polarizations perpendicular to each other, propagate through SnSe. As the cover image illustrates, the saturable absorption (SA) and pump-probe responses are strongly polarization-dependent, consistent with the linear absorption results. Furthermore, the anisotropic SA effect has excellent potential for novel all-optical switches based on the switching light polarization.
