Abstract

Recent advances in graphene-plasmon assisted light–matter interaction enable the manipulation of light in a 2D manner. In their progress report (article number 1800537), Yuancheng Fan and co-workers highlight some recent progress in graphene plasmons towards two-dimensional optics. The cover image conceptually illustrates the full control of light with graphene for 2D optics, including the coupling of out-of-plane light with localized plasmonic excitations, amplification of graphene plasmons, and arbitrarily controlled propagating plasmonic excitations for a 2D optical circuit.
