OLEDs Based on Metal‐Organic Framework: New OLEDs Based on Zirconium Metal‐Organic Framework (Advanced Optical Materials 6/2018)
Source abstract
Abstract
The fabrication and characterization of a first organic light-emitting diode (OLED) based on metal-organic framework (MOF) are reported in article number 1701060 by Mario Gutierrez, Cristina Martin, Abderrazzak Douhal and co-workers. The device uses an emissive layer of Zr-based MOF formed by Zr-oxide clusters and naphthalene linkers providing pores able to encapsulate fluorescent guests. The MOF-LED emits in a wide spectral range thanks to the presence of defects in the MOF and the occurrence of energy transfer between the trapped fluorescent dyes and the MOF's linkers.
