Photochromic Switching of Fano Resonances in Metallic Photonic Crystal Slabs
Source abstract
Abstract
Metallic photonic crystal slabs composed of periodic gold nanowire arrays embedded in a photochromic waveguide are studied by optical transmittance spectroscopy. The interaction of the localized plasmon mode of the nanowires and the delocalized waveguide mode gives rise to pronounced Fano resonances. By switching the photochromic waveguide from the transparent to the absorbing state, the Fano dip is strongly suppressed.
