Dual‐Channel Kazoo Resonator With PVDF‐PAN Nanofibers for High‐Performance Acoustoelectric Energy Harvesting
Source abstract
Abstract
ABSTRACT This study presents a novel dual‐channel acoustoelectric device that integrates a Kazoo resonator with two acoustoelectric polyvinylidene fluoride‐polyacrylonitrile (PVDF‐PAN) nanofiber transducers, which function simultaneously as diaphragms and transducers. At acoustic excitation frequencies of 100 Hz and 115 dB, the Kazoo device with series‐connected transducers achieved a peak‐to‐peak open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of 174.3 ± 9.01 V, a peak‐to‐ peak short‐circuit current (I SC ) of 11.15 ± 1.11 µA, and a maximum output power (P max ) of 384 µW. In parallel connection, it produced a Voc of 94.3 ± 5.7 V, an I SC of 23.67 ± 1.22 µA, and a P max of 285 µW. The dual‐channel configuration delivers higher power output (384 µW in series) and nearly doubles the current output (23.67 µA in parallel) compared with the current and previously reported single‐channel Kazoo devices. Finite element simulations reveal that the Kazoo resonator amplifies vibrations on both nanofiber membranes, thereby enhancing deformation of the piezoelectric nanofibers and improving energy conversion. The dual‐channel design enables efficient lateral sound harvesting, high power output, and tunable electrical performance, offering an effective approach to advancing high‐performance acoustoelectric technology.
