Abstract

3D Printing In article number 2400928, Sherif Elsharkawy and co-workers focus on creating bioinspired artificial surfaces to solve the retention problem of wearable advanced materials. They demonstrate that mimicking octopi suction cups at various scales and using a keratin coating enhances the retention of non-compliant poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA). This readily applicable solution could benefit the biomedical field, especially dentistry, where PMMA still remains without a superior replacement.
