A Microfluidic Platform for In Situ Studies of Bacteria Electroporation (Adv. Mater. Technol. 4/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Microfluidic Platforms Electroporation of bacterial cells is challenging due to their small size and complex cell envelope. In article number 2401177, Magnus Johansson, Maria Tenje, and co-workers present a microfluidic platform for E. coli electroporation with in situ microscopy capability. Real-time observations reveal that electrophoresis plays an important role in a miniaturized platform, but its undesired action can be balanced using bipolar electrical pulses.
