Angle‐Insensitive Fabry–Perot Mechanochromic Sensor for Real‐Time Structural Health Monitoring (Adv. Mater. Technol. 8/2021)
Source abstract
Abstract
Microelectrode Arrays Myeongkyu Lee and colleagues fabricate angle-insensitive mechanochromic sensors on flexible polydimethylsiloxane substrates in article number 2100118. These sensors have a planar Fabry-Perot resonator structure and can be stretched up to strains larger than 100%. Remarkably, the developed sensors are highly responsive to mechanical stimuli and can facilitate visual detection of localized failures in engineering structures, and are promising for real-time structural health monitoring.
