Abstract

Physically flexible and stretchable electronics can be an enormous asset to explore and to thrive in harsh environments including space, deep oceans, and industrial plants. In article number 1900145, Muhammad M. Hussain and co-workers describe recent progress in the development of flexible electronics for extreme environments. They explore the importance of materials selection and highlight the importance of design and fabrication methodologies. Finally, they summarize the development of packaging technology intended to allow deployment of electronics in such environments.
