Abstract

Nonlinear hysteresis from the piezoelectric tripod manipulator integrated with a compliant mechanism obstructs precise motion. To accurately control the piezoelectric tripod manipulator, in article number 1800298, Hyeong-Geon Kim, Jong-Nam Kim, Il-Kwon Oh and co-workers successfully apply a feedforward hysteresis compensator based on the rate-dependent hysteresis model and feedback control integrated with a rate-independent compensator to the piezoelectric tripod manipulator with severe inherent hysteresis.
