Omnidirectional and Multi‐Material In Situ 3D Printing Using Acoustic Levitation (Adv. Mater. Technol. 9/2025)
Source abstract
Abstract
Acoustic Levitation In article number 2401792, Hongyi Chen and co-workers present an acoustophoretic 3D printing technology, AcoustoFab, enabling omnidirectional and multi-material in situ fabrication through acoustic levitation. It uses ultrasonic waves to precisely manipulate droplets and particles in mid-air, achieving contactless voxel-by-voxel assembly on complex substrates, including human hands. Demonstrated applications span biomedical engineering to delicate electronics, showcasing its versatility and precision.
