Abstract

Antibacterial Plasma Polymer Coating In article 2300063, Behnam Akhavan and co-workers present a facile and environmentally friendly plasma-based technology to create anti-infection bone-implantable devices. The technology allows for the creation of robust and uniform coatings that are rich in radicals, making it possible to strongly attach antimicrobial agents via covalent bonding. The solvent-free biofunctionalization process is specifically designed for 3D materials and has significant implications for streamlining the fabrication of functional biomaterials, particularly in the development of antibacterial and tissue-integrating implants.
