Charge‐Selectively Permeable Self‐Healing Microcapsules (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 35/2023)
Source abstract
Abstract
Self-Healing Microcapsules In article 2300531, Amstad and co-workers introduce charge selectively permeable, viscoelastic capsules with shells as thin as 15 nm. These capsules are composed of chelator-functionalized copolymer surfactants that are ionically crosslinked at the drop surfaces. It is demonstrated that these capsules selectively take up reagents that are electrostatically attracted by the capsule shells, thereby offering unique opportunities to remove well-defined waste products from aqueous solutions.
