Micropatterning in Nematic Liquid Crystals: A General Control Strategy to Micropattern Topological Defects in Nematic Liquid Crystals Using Ionically Charged Dielectric Surface (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 11/2021)
Source abstract
Abstract
In article number 2100379, Yuji Sasaki and co-workers introduce a general method for fabricating functional surfaces enabling a micropattern formation of topological defects in nematic liquid crystals irrespective of the chemical structure of compounds. Area-selective modification of surfaces using ultraviolet-ozone treatment allows to obtain highly self-organized microstructures with tunability, which dramatically improves the fabrication efficiency.
