Thermal Conductance: Exceptional Thermal Conductance across Hydrogen‐Bonded Graphene/Polymer Interfaces (Adv. Mater. Interfaces 13/2016)
Source abstract
Abstract
Ling Liu and co-workers demonstrate that Hydrogen bonds serve as “thermal bridges” that effectively conduct heat between two materials of drastically different thermal properties in article 1600211. By covalently functionalizing graphene with hydroxyl groups, thermal conductance across the graphene/poly(methyl methacrylate) interface is improved by 273%, due to the improved interfacial association, enhanced thermal coupling, and new thermal pathways resulting from the interfacial hydrogen bonding.
