Abstract

In Situ Atom Probe Tomography Using Isotopic Tracer In article number 2200134, Arun Devaraj and co-workers report that in situ atom probe tomography using 18O isotopic tracer is correlated with ex situ multimodal characterization and computational simulations. This approach validates the outward cation diffusion mechanism as the dominant mechanism during the early stages of oxidation of Fe–18Cr–14Ni alloy. This is a rapid approach to study high-temperature oxygen–material interactions, relevant to studies of material degradation and catalysis.
