Abstract

Applying metal microwires at the interface between a conductive material and the electrode connecting it to the external circuit can greatly enhance the sensitivity of sponge-based piezoresistive pressure sensors. This improvement stems from the tremendous bulk material-electrode contact area increase upon external pressure stimuli.
