Abstract

An excellent asymmetric Janus membrane, having hydrophilicity/underwater oleophobicity on one side and opposite hydrophobicity on the other side, is fabricated by leveraging the buoyancy of poly(vinylidene fluoride) nanofiber on water/air interface, for oil–water separation and organic pollutant decomposition.
